As we approach a UK General Election, CGP were delighted to host Conservative and Labour parliamentary breakfast roundtables this week to discuss foreign policy and international development priorities with prospective parliamentary candidates.

CGP were delighted to host a cross-party delegation of Members of Parliament this week in Washington D.C. to discuss the transatlantic relationship and the importance of US-UK collaboration in development, defence and diplomacy.

This week, the Coalition for Global Prosperity held a private roundtable bringing together policy experts, think tanks and NGOs for a discussion on the UK’s foreign policy and development priorities as we approach a UK General Election.

As this year’s Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin approaches, CGP were delighted to partner with KBR for a private roundtable discussion earlier this week titled “Beyond the War: How can the UK help shape a free and prosperous Ukraine?”.

2023 was a tumultuous year in international development marked by escalating conflict and climate disasters. The UK has responded with breadth and speed, and 2024, the Year of Elections, presents a significant opportunity for the UK to navigate geopolitical challenges strategically.

The January edition of the Global Prosperity Magazine has now been published.

Development matters just as much at home as it does abroad. Whether this be stopping small boats, tackling climate change, countering national security threats or even boosting UK economic prosperity through trade, development policy is central to all of these domestic concerns.

For those of us who think that the UK’s development capability is a crucial part of its international toolkit, there is much to that in the new White Paper that is to be welcomed.
