Sierra Leone Visit: Follow-up Roundtable in Parliament

CGP was delighted to co-host a follow-up roundtable discussion in partnership with the International Rescue Committee in Parliament yesterday. The discussion followed CGP’s recent overseas visit to Sierra Leone, during which Helen Grant OBE MP, Dame Caroline Dinenage MP and Alex Davies-Jones MP saw firsthand how UK Aid is saving lives by enabling women and girls to access quality healthcare.

The MPs reflected on the incredible projects they saw during the visit and also discussed next steps, so that IRC’s Saving Lives Programme, funded entirely by the FCDO, continues to receive the support it needs.

The UK is Sierra Leone’s single biggest bilateral partner. Through IRC’s projects, UK Aid reaches 3.1 million people, 75% of which are women and children. UK Aid also funds a Technical Health Adviser, who sits in the office of the Vice President in Sierra Leone.
