Response to Budget and Spending Review Announcements

Following today’s Budget and Spending Review Statement by the Chancellor, Coalition for Global Prosperity Chief Executive Ryan Henson said:

“This Budget shows the UK can both level up at home, and secure it's objectives in international affairs. We welcome the biggest capital investment in the NHS since 2010, an increase in the National Living Wage, and confirmation that the Government will reinstate its commitment to spend 0.7% of GNI on international development by 2024/25.

It is right that the Government should invest in the health and wellbeing of everyone in the UK, and right that we should bolster our defence, climate, trade and diplomatic objectives as well as helping the world's poorest, by committing to a return to the full development budget.”
