Parliamentary Visit to Kenya

The Coalition for Global Prosperity hosted a cross-party Parliamentary visit to Kenya in partnership with World Vision and supported by the Eleanor Crook Foundation. We were joined by Maggie Throup MP and The Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP.

During the visit, the Delegation visited education projects supported by World Vision in Narok County. These were a primary and secondary school. The delegation spoke with local leaders, parents and children about the challenges they faced entering education such as food security, drought and safety.

The Members of Parliament also spoke with representatives from the UK High Commission in Nairobi about the UK’s role in the region and the development priorities there. There was also a meeting with the Kenya branch of the World Bank to discuss what work was happening and its impacts.
