Leila Bousbaa
Director of Advocacy
Leila is our Director of Advocacy and has an extensive background in international development and climate change campaigning. Whilst studying for her degree, she volunteered in Zimbabwe, India and Fiji, where she was promoted to expedition leader and worked in Fiji for four months after graduation. She previously worked at The Climate Coalition as a Campaigns Officer, overseeing all member relationships and leading on aspects of significant campaigns such as the annual Show the Love campaign. Soon after, she was promoted to the role of Campaigns Executive, where she worked in a small team to deliver a parliamentary lobby, ‘Time is Now’, on climate change ahead of the Government adapting net zero legislation in 2019. This resulted in the largest parliamentary lobby in British history, with over 12,000 supporters gathered outside Westminster, representing 80% of constituencies, and 381 MPs attended. Prior to this, Leila worked at the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development as a Parliamentary Assistant, organising the Annual Parliamentary Reception. Leila is an Executive Member of the Labour Campaign for International Development. In her spare time she works tirelessly within her local community to improve poor living conditions.
