The Coalition for Global Prosperity is delighted to invite you to the launch of a new report at 6-8pm on Monday 17th October in Westminster Abbey to champion Britain as a force for good in the world. It will be the first output from our new research team which will focus on ways in which the UK can play a positive global leadership role and to showcase support for development and global prosperity.

As the UK has shown in Ukraine, this country remains capable of playing an outsize role in shaping the global response to the challenges of our era. We should take heart from this and reject the fatalism of those who argue that we should narrow our horizons or lower our ambitions.

Global Britain: The Confidence to Lead argues that the UK has a distinct role to play as a force for good in the world and sets out a number of recommendations for the UK to be ambitious in addressing many of the challenges that will define the decades to come. This includes easing the hard cap of 0.5% ODA spending, the creation of a new Minister for Future Prosperity, joint between FCDO and HMT; the creation of a Forum on UK-Africa co-operation; and that the Government should set out clearer, transparent rules about how more flexible funding can be accessed.
